Registration is now open! The Program Schedule includes an exceptional array of educational sessions and a new feature for the 2008 Forum -- specialty workshops on Thursday, March 6.
Keynote speakers include Charles S. Mahan, MD, Dean and Professor Emeritus in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida and the Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies; Eugene R. Declercq, Ph.D, MBA Council Chair, Boston University School of Public Health; and Jennifer Block, journalist and author of Pushed: The Painful Truth About Childbirth and Modern Maternity Care.
The 2008 Forum is about hope! While there will be ample documentation that maternity care is in crisis, the program schedule incorporates numerous examples of people and programs working on innovative and creative solutions. This information will be shared with all attendees along with tools you can use to improve maternity care in your own communities and Make Mother-Friendly Care a Reality®.
The 2008 CIMS Forum has been approved for 17 contact hours from the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA). An application has been submitted to the Florida Nurses Association for approval of 17.0 contact hours. Please call Willa Fuller at The Florida Nurses Association for more information. Attendees will be notified of the number of contact hours that are eligible for each day.
