CIMS' mission is to promote a wellness model of maternity care that improves birth outcomes and substantially reduces costs. This educational, non-profit coalition has over 90,000 members and is made up of individuals and more than 50 birth and breastfeeding organizations. Many prominent authors, educators, and leaders in the movement to humanize childbirth and promote breastfeeding -- people whose names you know and whose work you respect -- work within CIMS to advance its goals.
However, the mounting demand for CIMS' input has outstripped our resources. We need your help now to continue and expand our important work in promoting Mother-Friendly care through education, advocacy, and designations.

The second letter is an attachment to the first, and is intended for general circulation amongst the membership of the endorsing organizations.
